Common Kitchen Plumbing Issues

One of the main causes of concern for most homeowners in America is plumbing issues in their houses, especially in the kitchen. If the plumbing system in your kitchen is not working properly, it means that you will have frequent cases of flooded sinks, leaky taps, and other serious disasters.

So, it is important to be aware of the most common kitchen plumbing issues so that you can do everything possible to prevent them from occurring. Here are some of the main kitchen plumbing issues you might experience.

Most Common Kitchen Plumbing Issues

Low Water Pressure

If the water coming out of your faucet has very low pressure, you should have your aerator checked because it could be clogged. An aerator is the tiny circular grate attached to the opening tip of a faucet. This grate can get clogged by mineral deposits from the water. The good thing is that this problem can easily be fixed by unscrewing the aerator and removing the mineral deposits with a brush. You should also check the pipes leading to the faucet for clogging.

But if your home’s overall water pressure is low, you should check the main pipes supplying water to your home because they could be blocked. Sometimes this happens when you fail to turn the meter valve up correctly.

Leaky Faucets

There are many reasons why your kitchen faucets are leaking. For instance, if a washer is worn out, it can lead to leaky faucets. Normally, a washer can be overcome by constant friction from water being forced through the valve seat, causing the faucet to leak. Your kitchen faucets could be leaking due to a corroded valve seat. A valve seat connects the spout and the faucet around the compression unit. So check the valve seat for wear and tear. Sometimes your faucets will leak if the O-ring is worn out.

Clogged Sink

If your kitchen sink gets clogged every other day, you need to check the pipes below it for clogging. It’s normal for debris, grease, soap scum, and food particles to get stuck in the drain pipes below the sink over time, causing a blockage. You can fix this problem by opening the pipes and removing all the dirt inside. Also, invest in a sink water filter to arrest large food particles and other debris.

Jammed Garbage Disposal

If your dishwasher is jammed, it will cause your kitchen sink to back up. So, make sure no small objects are blocking your disposal unit.

Highly recommend. When I had a problem on New Year's day, they were there in a flash. Have used them for over two years. From small maintenance to big jobs, they are good and they are fast.

My experience with this company was an absolute pleasure. I got quality service at a price I can afford. Will definitely use them again for all my plumbing needs..

We’ve been members with the company for a few years. They are very honest, and have made us a priority on many occasions. We used them in our previous home and current. Very knowledgeable, and we trust them. We never have a worry with our heating and cooling systems because we know they are meticulously maintained by 1-800-plumber. They show up almost immediately when we call for service, and go out of their way to make sure our systems are up and running. We highly recommend this company, and the prices for the work they do are the best around.

Don’t hesitate calling 1800plumbers. These guys are the best of the best. Especially Terry and John. They both did an amazing job and took their time to explain things to me. They went above and beyond. They showed up when they said they were going to show up and got straight to work right away. All I had to do was sit back and relax. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone who needs a plumber
